Candy Cigs
I remember someone on Sugar talking about candy cigarettes and how they loved them as a kid, but really they were such a bad idea. Well, I was online on this site Archie McPhee (they have a store near me) that sells toys, gag gifts and other unique gifts that you wouldn't see elsewhere. Well in their candy section they sell bubble gum cigarettes! Not the candy kind, but the bubble gum kind that when you blew into them the chalky substance came out looking like smoke!

Even though they aren't toys, I thought we should take this trip down memory lane! I remember my friends and I thinking we were so cool when we were pretending smoking these! How bad! Good thing none of us ended up being smokers!
The ones below are making fun of the trend expecially the ones called "Black Lung" and "Just Like Dad"!!!

I remember those from when I was little! I also used to get the popeye candy ones because I liked to crunch them and the chocolate cigars from Laura Secord's. It's a wonder I'm so anti smoking today.

But OK so I'm NOT INSANE!! I swore those things blew fake smoke!!! I was talking about it last week and everyone said I was nuts!!

LOL ... I used to LOVE those things ... and I hated smoking for years and years. Took me getting married and starting drinking to start smoking, like an idiot.

I remember the ones "back in the day", they were a white crumbly candy stick with a very slight red spot at one end. I don't even think they tasted good (just like real ones), but like leeluvfashion said, we kids thought we were so cool. lol
Oh yeah I remember these! I used to get them at the store all the time when I was maybe 2nd or 3th grade.
My son always tells my friend how she's gonna get Black Lung from smoking. So one day he and I are in Archie's and we see these. We died laughing and bought her a pack from him for her Birthday. Priceless.
Now actually I think candy cigs taste REALLY good, but this is rediculous!

My friends and I used to buy them and bring them out to recess in elementary school. We thought we were so awesome at the time.
I remember those too!!!! There flavor didnt last long! On my way home from school, my older brother use to buy me candy. These were one of my "usual"

I LOVED candy cigarettes!! I used to get them in the candy vending machine at the bowling alley! But they stopped making even when I was still a kid. I did find some bubblegum smokes a little later but it just wasn't the same.
I actually seen these somewhere still on sale! It has been awhile, but I almost bought a pack.
My friend and I would go down to the corner store and buy both the ones that actually had puffs of air come out (the gum ones), and the traditional candy ones. I forgot about these. I was never big into the gum cigars. You can still get these as so old fashion 5 & dime shops.
